I know you're out there! This movie was a mainstay of my childhood, and I still love it. The main arguments against the film are: A. "they butchered the novel", which is bull, as nearly 90% of the novel is in the film, and B. it's goofy and bizarre, but it's SUPPOSED to be goofy and bizarre! It's written by a playwright, John Patrick Shanley, who usually doesn't work in this genre, and he successfully crafted an experiance that doesn't feel like any other adventure story on film. It's fun, funny, creepy, and has moments that are quite sad and melancholy, with colorful characters and a lot of memorable, and witty, dialog. The same idiots who couldn't figure out that Starship Troopers was clearly a parody of fascist propaganda couldn't figure out that Congo was supposed to be off-the-wall and slightly subservient, (and if they couldn't have figured that out, they should have stayed home and watched their Power Rangers)! ;D Anyhoo, I love this movie to bits, even if it was CLEARLY not a PG-13 in 1995 and the Killer Gorillas scared the ever-loving snot out of me. I love the soundtrack, too. Sadly, Michael Crichton, Stan Winston, and Jerry Goldsmith are all dead now, which really sucks. 15 years was such a long time ago... The Kenner toys are awesome as well and fit right in with their JP lines... Sheer 90's Crichton awesome-osity! Speak up, Congo Kooks, I know you're out there! And the rest of you, STOP EATING MY SESAME CAKE!!!!

I've never seen Congo, am I really missing out on something epic?
I like Kenner's toy line though, for obvious reasons.

Congo is OK. It's not as bad as everyone says and it's sorta fun to watch.

I love this movie too! I remember seeing a TV spot for it and the only reson was that it mentioned that the creator of it was also the creator of JP. Funny how little things like a mere mention of JP makes me remember this ad. Overall, a good fun adventure flick although not as good as JP or Indy. Recommened!!!

I don't why it got so dissed always, but I thought Congo was a pretty darn good flick.
And as a side note, it is arguably one of the more graphic Chrichton based movies, so I belive. When it coms to gory graphic violence, the JP movies are probaly the tamest movies from Chrichton's books.!
