With today being Opening Day across Major League Baseball, I'm curious to know if there are any other baseball fans here.
I'm a die hard Kansas City Royals fan. I was raised in Topeka, KS about an hour away from Kansas City, MO. When the team started in 1969, they were decent and throughout the 70's were always battling the Yankees for supremacy. Then they won the World Series in 1985. After that? It all stopped. My dad would take me to Royals games as a kid because...well...they were awful and tickets were cheap.
You don't abandon your team when they have awful years and KC had 29 of them straight. They didn't make it back to the playoffs until 2014 when, as a Wild Card team, they stormed through the competition and made it all the way to the World Series, losing in 7 games to the San Francisco Giants.
Then 2015 came. They won their division for the first time...ever. They had some heart attack inducing moments in that years playoffs, as well as tear jerking ones, before defeating the New York Mets in the World Series 4 games to 1.
The next two years were hard. They say the death of our star young pitcher in a car accident, injuries and exhaustion finally caught up to them.
This off season we lost most of our core, championship team to free agency and are starting a rebuild that hopefully will not take longer than 3 years.
TL;DR version: Do you like baseball? If so, which team is YOUR team and why?

I'm from Seattle. Why bother? All the Mariners are is a farm-team for everybody else... even Ichiro finally gave up and took that offer from the Yankees, and he's only back here because he wants a Farewell Season with the team that gave him his first real chance.

My team went from barely a wild card to a 7 game WS loss then champs the next year...and they’re owned by a former Walmart exec that hates to spend.

Well odds are you guys will hate me, but the Yankees are my team. I live in NJ my dad is from the Bronx, been a fan since I could know what baseball was, I'm 28 now. I even played professionally in Puerto Rico for a couple of years. My Yankees growing up were obviously the 90s yanks, so ive had plenty to be happy about. Stanton hit 2 bombs, and the Yanks won 6-1 yesterday. So I'm hoping for a great season. Good luck to everyone else, your going to need it against my Yanks!

I don't hate the team, I hate the Steinbrenners who think they're entitled to BUY Series rings every year by virtue of outbidding every other team in the league for talent. Just like I don't blame Ichiro for leaving our team to join yours so he could get a ring... I blame the rank incompetence here that made it necessary for him to do so.

I only hate fans that ruin it for everyone else. Every team has them. My rage over the last few years has been exclusively reserved for Cleveland. I was on my honeymoon when the Yanks bounced them last year and I cheered.

I am a Texas Rangers fan. Yes, the jokes and comments can begin. I have been a fan for awhile. Back in the late 80's when I went to a minor league game I fell in love with players like Juan Gonzalez and Dean Palmer.
Now, the tram is in a rebuilding process. With all the trades over recent years the farm system was taken for alost everything. I still cheer for the team, just when no one is watching.
I have the chance to see minor league baseball in my area and had the chance to collect autographs from so many current and future major leaguers. Baseball is where my heart lies.

Baltimore Orioles, anyone? Cal Ripken, Jr., Brady Anderson, Roberto Alomar, Rafael Palmeiro, Chris Hoiles back in the '95-'97 era? I mean I can't talk to much trash now, but I can reminisce.
Also, Chipper going in the hall of fame this year for Atlanta? One of THE best players of all time, anyone?
Oh yeah, and hey everyone...nice to be back!

Speaking of Baltimore, I didn't like them much during the 90's. Mike "Moose" Mussina was a tought pitcher. I could appreciate Cal Ripken. I guess that is why I have his RC, lol.

I live in OKC, I hope to be down in Arlington in May to see the Rangers/Royals series. You have a great stadium...I disagree with needing a new one...but...whatever. I was at the game in KC on Sunday...that was postponed 15 minutes before first pitch. Ugh.

As the years have passed the Royals organization was wise enough to leave room for improvement for the stadium. I have a chance to see Royal players in Midland. Players like Greinke, Moustakas, Gordon, Hosmer, etc.

It's that time again...to get swept by a "rebuilding" team in Seattle...only to turn around and sweep the division leading Indians at home. This team frustrates the hell outta me.
