It is with solemn heartache that I report the passing of one of our moderators, Astrid Vega, due to a heart attack on Friday, July 5. Astrid was a generous soul, who was known for her popular Jurassic toy reviews through her YouTube page, The Jurassic Collection, and her restaurant Prehistoric Land, in Guadalajara, Mexico. But she was known most of all for being a kind, caring, and honest person. She was a great friend who could always be counted on for sharing her honest and valued thoughts. Astrid was a cornerstone to the fandom she dedicated herself to, and will be dearly missed by her friends here at JPToys and beyond.

This is devastating news. She was a wonderful person by all definitions. I am lost for words. This is so sad.
My condolences to her husband and the rest of her family and friends.
Thanks for making a thread.
RIP Astrid Vega. You will be sorely missed.

I just heard about this, and I am very shocked this happened to one of our own. Astrid was a well liked and respected member of our small community, and always contributed to our existing knowledge of our common passion. She often helped others too, and cared for the community as a whole.
She leaves a large gap in our midst, and we... I... will miss her dearly.
Rest in peace Astrid.

Very sad news indeed!
I've had some excellent talks and trades with Astrid and considered her a valuable and generous member of our community. She will be sorely missed by me and many others.

I just found out today, and feeling it big time. I loved her fan hood and also just her old school joy of the 1993 era. She was very much my ideal Jurassic park girl. Super sweet. And she was no fake fan just for youtube popularity. She was special where ever she went because she was always happy, honest. I didn't know she was an Mod here either. Will be missed. I'm not new to these forums, for I was around ever since even Dan. She left too soon.
She had all the Toys, even more than I ever did. And that alone was beautiful to watch because, hell I played my toys to death. It was nice to see those figures belonging to someone who cared at that level. Hell, the same level I enjoyed them. And that is hard to admit. And Oh, its a girl!

Any news of a memorial website for Astrid or her how her family is doing?
It would be nice to see her YT Channel have a final video dedicated to her memory.
Astrid was a kind heart and we all miss her.
