Didn't see a thread on this yet. Preview Description: This thrilling Netflix-original drama stars award-winning actress Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, who lives in a small Indiana town in 1983 -- inspired by a time when tales of science fiction captivated audiences. When Joyce's 12-year-old son, Will, goes missing, she launches a terrifying investigation into his disappearance with local authorities. As they search for answers, they unravel a series of extraordinary mysteries involving secret government experiments, unnerving supernatural forces, and a very unusual little girl.
I absolutely love this series. I've watched all 8 episodes of the first season twice now. For those of you that are a Steven Spielberg fan (Hello, this is JPToys a JP fan site!) or who love original stories, you must watch this series! Netflix will hopefully pick this up for a second season. The writing is fantastic and I'm really hoping the story will progress in a season 2. Discuss! -AC

Great, another awesome show people tell me I need to see. As if there's not enough of those already. My time on this Earth is limited, I'll have you know.

I saw the whole thing. It was pretty nice. I wouldn't say it was life changing, or mind blowing or the greatest series ever or anything like that, but it was very nice.
What I mean is: it might not be perfect, but it gets a 9/10 from me because it keeps a dying genre (and one I very much love) alive. Gives new hope to it.
So yeah, it's a must watch if you like sci-fi.

I Watched it a few Times recently. I hear there's works on Season 2 at the Moment, and that it takes place at least several months after the Events of the First Season. Oh, and I really like the show! I love how they gave it a bit of an 80s feel with the music and all Though I noticed a few things a little off (Particularly Star Wars collectible related; they used items from 2004 rather than vintage items (The Falcon is a retooled version that came out when the DVDs came out in 04, you can tell from the details))

It's a fun show, but so derivative in its attempt to do hommage to the Eighties that it mostly fails to be original. There's nothing there I haven't seen before elsewhere. But still, very watchable.

I liked it just fine.. i wasnt blown away or anything..What is it that screams 80s to everybody.. Its set in the 80s and it uses that ole kids on a adventure /mystery story arc type thing.. but watching it doesnt make me feel at all like something made in the 80s or came from it.. An believe me ive spent a great bit of my time in that decade in pop culture. I still go back there often.. The title logo looks like they ripped that straight off a old Stephen King novel.. ill give em that.

Great show, loved everything about it being an 80's kid. Looking forward to season 2 in October.
