August 13's fine. If we want to go see the film on the big screen, spending an afternoon in Amsterdam might be more practical than traveling to Soest and back? I'm sure we could find some dinosaur-related activity there! I would also be be fine with that. Can't think of any specific dinosaur activity in Amsterdam (other than Papo hunting), but a little trip is always fun with you folks. The 16th July is out for me, I'm afraid.

Dorien e-mailed me, she will very likely have to work on the 13th as well.
What I'm going to suggest is to put it on the 6th August and we'll see how long you can be here Neelis.
Then on a later date, perhaps the 13th of August, we can all go to the cinema to watch the original JP movie and perhaps roam Amsterdam for that because as Neelis noted, travelling back and forth from Soest to Amsterdam could be a little bit of a hassle.

The 6th isn't possible for me, as it's a full day. We're going to the park early and won't leave until the evening. If Dorien can't make it on another date, then settle for the 6th, and we'll see the film on the 13th (or any of the other options).

I actually would like to get out from under the 6th as well. It's the first birthday of my niece and though they haven't yet, I'm sure her parents are planning a family get-together. I apparently am the bad sort of uncle who doesn't put such a significant birthday in his agenda... So maybe we can make the entire meeting revolve around JP in Amsterdam, rather than attempt two separate get-togethers on two different dates we'd all have to clear. JP is playing at Eye on August 6 (21.30), 13 (13.30), 20 (21.30) and 27 (21.00).

Sigh, I'm going to spank all of you. Next time if I ask if people are free on certain dates, do check please? I had to ask permission from my parents for each date I suggested and now they are like >.<, and I can't really explain what it's gonna be anymore.
We can see the movie on the 13th, but it'll be very likely without Dorien then.

Sorry about that, but they only asked me last Sunday for this family gathering, as it had been decided just a day or two before this date is the most convenient for everyone (there's about twenty people coming). Before that, my schedule was absolutely empty. Movie on the 13th sounds good to me! Fingers crossed Dorien can make it too!

Yeah, sorry from me as well for that cancellation. Nevertheless, the 13th is clear and will remain so. Keep the time in mind though, on this particular date the movie starts in the afternoon rather than the evening.

The film's two hours long, it won't end much later than 15.45, which means we can grab some food afterwards. More convenient time for everyone to get home easily as well.

Just so. But it's a bit of an anti-climax to start the day with the big event, eh?

6th of August is back on the table for me. Turns out her parents are taking my niece to Portugal for her birthday.

Better to do that way in advance, we don't wanna risk the movie being sold out. And trust me, this happens all the time with this sort of screenings at Eye...

For me it's fine, but Dorien doesn't know for sure yet if she can come or not. She said she very likely has to work that day, but it was only a preliminary schedule for now.

I remember the last time we saw Jurassic Park (3D) at Eye: are you sure you can buy the tickets from the box office this time? We had to purchase them online then. (You went all that way for nothing before you were told.) If you can't buy them at the theatre directly, I'd be happy to get them online for us. But yes, let Dorien confirm first.

I was able to buy them directly for The Hateful Eight earlier this year, so that ought not be a problem. I think with JP 3D the problem was I didn't have an online bank account to pay with. That has since been remedied. But hey, I have a free option I like to make more use of. I'll wait a bit longer for Dorien's answer then. Otherwise, I can at least proceed and buy three tickets for us.
