But why!! I still don't get it, what is their point!?? Islamic state describes the artefacts as 'false idols' and seeks to justify their destruction in religious terms.

Idiots. Just goes to show how totally nonsensible and dangerous human beings can get when driven by the wrong convictions. A warning to us all. Oh well, it;s not a new thing. Taliban did this a decade ago. More religious nut jobs will do it in the future I fear.

Makes me happy that England "stole" so many of those treasures and parked them in the Brittish Museum. Rather there than in the hands of those apes :/

Those damn dirty apes! Yup, there's something good in imperialism too. At least in the decadent capitalist evil West this cultural heritage will be preserved.

Freaks... Seems we need to get all kinds of artifacts out of those countries as fast as possible, just to save them for the future generations..
Shows they lack intelligence and respect. We would never harm their beloved artifacts, so why can't they let others stuff just be? Actually, I had the same bad feeling when I saw in a documentary about Sue that the government took the fossil.. Usually those kind of people do not know how to handle such items and destroy them in the process -_- Luckily for Sue, she ended up being fine.

As a student of Archaeology, this is... I can't even. I've had enough for today. Im planning to go to Graduate school for archaeology and...this is just wow. I remember watching this video in my archaeology of the middle east class. Basically to show us how archaeology is treated over there by ISIS. Yeah, makes me wish that we could better conserve them.

Sometimes I think it is dangerous to leave some items in the middle of war zones, but I think it would be not appropriate to culturally appropriate items for safe keeping. History is doomed.

As a Christian (and part agnostic) it makes me so sad what people do in name of religion/God... Let people be who they want to be, and 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
Those city's and statues are of historical value now, they serve no purpose of worship anymore. So let them be...

Traduction : It isn't the religion which it's necessary to fight ... but fundamentalism.
