Considering this is going to be the next big dinosaur/ prehistory film, I suppose a separate thread for it would be considered alright? The first full trailer was released today:

They used the JP T.Rex roars for T.Rexes in the trailer. Did anyone else notice? They are probably going to make their own dinosaur roars later. It's probably a placeholder.

I'm still not convinced. The landscapes look so realistic and the characters are so cartoonish and retro. The story also doesn't seem particularly inspired. I wanna love it because it's Pixar, but I can't as of yet. Maybe when we see more of it later.
Pteranodons with teeth, ugh...

I heard it too but wasn't sure if they indeed were. I have the same feeling. The landscapes look fantastic, and that tiny lizard does as well, but the bigger creatures look like cartoons. Though it worked for Finding Nemo, which had photo-realistic landscapes and cartoon characters (including the humans); it might prove to be a good combination once we see more of it.

I like the style, and so far pixar always produced something good, so I will expect something good from this movie as well

It looks like a cute movie, for a 6 year old. I'd probably wait for the release on DVD, or Netflix. Seems like this would be one of the movies that Netflix would have in their queue.
In Finding Nemo though, they actually took their time to make it as real as possible, they watched Clownfish, and other creatures to see how they move, live, etc. Those characters in Finding Nemo weren't really cartoonish either. Sure, they had a comedic feel to them, but for the most part, they where dead on with the accuracy of the characters and how they resembled their real life counterparts. Granted, these people can't do real life research on dinosaurs, but they are capable of producing a good dinosaur movie. Have we forgotten about Disney's Dinosaur? THAT movie was an exceptionally good dinosaur movie AND there was part of Wild Animal Kingdom.
Like Roselaar said, it might bring about something good, but in my honest opinion, i really doubt it. Land Before Time is than this and that was hand drawn, no special effects, in the 80's. You would think that in this day and age, with all the research, they would actually try to make it decent, and accurate. Granted, this movie is highly geared toward kids, regardless though, you think they could have spent a little more time on it?

Agreed, even Land Before Time for its time looked more accurate than this, even though in both cases accuracy wasn't on the top of their minds. Doesn't mean this won't be an enjoyable film. Land Before Time sure was.

Another depressing ride.
I'm sorry, but I have a theory that Pixar movies and Disney CGI movies more depressing than the most depressing depressing movies ever.
It's why I didn't go see Inside Out. After Toy Story 3 and UP I called it quits. I bet one Bull T.rex this is gonna make you cry your eyes out at some point. And I don't mean "feel sad at some point". I mean "cry your effing eyes out" at some point.
I prefer Disney's Dinosaur. It was boring, and I never felt anything toward any of the characters except for maybe Eema and Baylene. And when it had to be emotional, it failed to be so, like when Kron died. Yes, he was evil, but why didn't Neera cry over him? Because he found this schmuck a few days ago who gave her kids? Puh lease.
Oh and don't forget. Creationists probably are gonna use this as a movie to indoctrinate youngsters on what the Earth looked like back before Genesis. THAT is the worst part.
It looks sweet, BBBBuuuut I'm a Christian cynic who hates creationists (because I hold science/belief not religion together yet separate and because I'm a social scientist who studies all the causes/symptoms) and I can tell I'm gonna be holding a Murder contest Thanksgiving. What the Prize will be is entirely my business. Might just be another dinosaur (A Turkey voucher?!)

What the Prize will be is entirely my business. Might just be another dinosaur (A Turkey voucher?!) Well, Kron was Neera's brother, so those would be some messed up baby iguanadons. Not to mention they weren't even hers. The movies are only really depressing if you let them get to you like that.. and majority of the time, it ends with a happy ending. You also gotta remember that these movies are based around kids/ for kids, so it will be depressing, but again, it's going to be leading to a happy ending. To me, some of these movies are just fairy tales and don't touch on the real subjects that children will have to face it life. Again, take for a example The Land Before Time. That movie dealt with real life situations, like death, and it wasn't a pretty death. It was his mother getting attacked by a t-rex. I can't think of pretty traumatizing thing to see than that. I can list about 5-10 different Disney/Pixar movies that are just all fairy tales.. On a lighter note.. are you serious about this bull rex bet?

I bet the Bull T.rex that I'm going to be crying my eyes out by the end of the movie. Anyone else, well as long as they can prove it, I might just honor the bet.

It looks cute to me. I'll probably go see it even though I don't have kids. But then again, I'm a huge Disney fan and like most of their animated films.

Plus, I made my husband see Brave and Frozen in the theater.
