New trailer is up: I'm still not feeling much enthusiasm for this. Really sucks, since I love Pixar and I love dinosaurs. Why won't the combination click for me...?

Pixar killed Disney utterly...

To me, it's really the whole super cartoony characters + super realistic backgrounds that kills it. Other than that (and maybe the main character design, who realy looks super lazy to me), it looks good. I like the role reversal thing (the dinosaur is the "boy" and the kid is the "dog"), I like the fact that the T-Rexes are good guys, I even like the whole "eh what if dinosaurs weren't dead" thing. It's just... Really distracting to look at anything related to this movie because of the background thing. It's just so beautiful, and then you see these characters that really do not belong in a 3D environment, I feel like it does not work at all?

I think that is why it looks so odd. The backgrounds are too hyper-real to really let the Dinosaurs fit. The different styles really clash for the most part. Overall, I think it'll be a good movie, but it'll just be sort of discombobulating to look at it.

Maybe it will be a predictable story... Possibly a rex dies, then the kid will probably come close to dying but then doesn't; then the dino finds his parents; the end. I could be wrong.

I believe we have an official plot, and it' pretty much Land Before Time? Like, the dino parent(s?) dies, and he gets separated from the rest of his family, travel to find them and team up with unlikely friends (the rexes and the kid)... Idk, it seems very predictable and not that original, I kinda expect more from Pixar.
And yeah, the super realistic background does NOT help this movie. The dinosaurs look out of place, which is even weirder because the human kid is detailed enough, and thing like that snake thing we saw even look okay... It's just the dinosaurs.

Still not thrilled about the lack of female characters. Pixar has admittedly had problems with including females characters equally in their movies in the past, but they'd been getting much better over the last few years (Inside Out had an equal ratio of male and female characters, and hell Brave was centered on them). Guess old habits sometimes die hard.
I hate to sound finicky, but this is something that's bothered me since childhood (there's a reason I treasured JP and Raptor Red so much, because characters that were both female and dinosaurs were pretty much the greatest thing ever).

Have you guys seen the toys yet?? They aren't so bad after all, lots better than what Hasbro would have produced. I'm VERY tempted to at least buy some of them XD

I hear Intertoys has them as well.

Visually it looks fantastic. But then again I am easily pleased.
The designs... well. I dunno. I'll just have to suspend disbelief on this one and bring a box of tissues, 'coz man, all of those Pixar movies are depressing as heck.

Uuuuh, I'm so mad! I saw a few Good Dinosaur books in store, and because I thought the art looked cute, I picked it up and looked at it, and like an idiot I spoiled the end of the movie for myself... I'M SO DUMB URGH.
For all the people who predicted something sad... Eh. It seems really... Bland. I don't know how the actual movie will be, but from the story the book described alone? It really sounds basic and far from Pixar standard.

Look at the positive side: Now you know that the story is as terrible as the designs.

I don't know, it seems like the book follow the "main" storyline, like, most of the books here had it... The actual movie will probably have more things going on, but I'm pretty sure that I spoiled the actual plot ^^"
