That looks great! Did you find any Jurassic Park related merchandise? Hardly. There were plenty of t-shirts and posters to be sure, but otherwise... Few toys, a bunch of overpriced JP III figures was all I noticed. Good thing too, I spent a lot of money already. I am now the proud owner of a katana. Burglars beware! Speaking of cars; you know already, but for other forum members it might be news - I have sold my car. After giving it much thought I came to the conclusion I did not use my car enough to justify keeping it on. I said goodbye to it almost two weeks ago. So far, I don't regret it, considering it was something I had been contemplating for a long period. I did dream about it, one night; how five different people in my building had suddenly bought the same model and color (yellow), with me looking out the window and seeing these five cars in the parking lot. Oh, I've watched ALIEN: Covenant again tonight (bought the DVD to complete the collection), and with every viewing it gets worse. How on Earth did they come up with this? What a mess. Alright, I'm out.

At some point I will have to get Alien: Covenant on Blu Ray to complete my own collection but I'll be waiting till it's in the discount bins. Wise Man say, 'Forgiveness is divine but never pay full price for Alien: Covenant'.

At some point I will have to get Alien: Covenant on Blu Ray to complete my own collection but I'll be waiting till it's in the discount bins. Wise Man say, 'Forgiveness is divine but never pay full price for Alien: Covenant'. That could have been me; I always maintained I wouldn't purchase it full price. There was a little discount given and I caved and picked it up yesterday; the best part remains the arrival on the unknown planet, and that's mainly because it was filmed in and around Milford Sound in New Zealand, which I've visited in the past. Alright, the Medbay scene is pretty good too. Other than that it's a very unbalanced film. To me, it feels like a quiet remake of Prometheus, with the aliens only shoved in to please fans. The EDIT button is my friend, another update ( Prometheus-related); my most wanted action figure for this year arrived last week - Dr. Elizabeth Shaw by NECA! Part of what they call The Lost Wave, the figures of Shaw, Vickers, (infected) Fifield and (infected) Holloway remained unreleased after cancelling it years ago. Now, Shaw, Vickers and Fifield have been produced in limited quantities. I saw the Vickers action figure a few weeks ago in London, but wasn't willing to pay full price (over 30,00 Pounds Sterling!) for it as the figure does not fully match the actress. Shaw's figure was sold out. Ebay helped - I bought two Shaw figures from a seller in Germany. Yes, full price too, but Shaw's figure's a much closer match and I did not want to regret it later on, when they will, no doubt, go for an increased (ridiculous) price. I haven't unpacked either yet, not sure if I will. She is a beauty and comes with David's severed head, an axe and space helmet.

Let's face it: Last Jedi sucked, didn't it? I liked The Last Jedi. It was a little too long for my tastes, but otherwise pretty good. I liked how the Rebels weren't magically victorious for once. And Laura Dern did a good job.

And Laura Dern did a good job. Well, to each his own. I hated how this film seemed to feel the need to do away with everything established in the previous film and dump characters left and right. Not to mention the plethora of nonsensical character decisions, the awkwardly non-linear plot and uninspired visual style. And I much prefer Ewoks over Porgs. The former at least have a function in the story.

Ofc it's hard to miss how the plot is so similar to the old movies, even with a new story it's pretty much the same at key points. I think there were 4-5 points in the movie that I really considered to be 'lame af', the rest was entertaining. As for the actual Star Wars franchise, I feel like it's a missed opportunity. They showed with Rogue One they can still make amazing movies fitting to the overall storyline.

Agreed, Rogue One was the best film in the franchise since Return of the Jedi. I iwshed they'd make more stuff like that. Solo sure doesn't sound as intriguing.

If you haven't yet, you should watch The Toys That Made Us, a lovely documentary series on the making of various classic toy lines. It's on Netflix. First episode is all about Star Wars, but also briefly features some Chaos Effect toys in the background.

I keep seeing it being recommended to me on Netflix, I might watch it eventually. I'd love to see one episode about Jurassic toys, would be fun (and on the topic of Porgs, the story of how they came to be is really fun : The island they were shooting the moving on was FULL OF BIRDS. So they put porgs everywhere on the island to hide the birgs. It's really fun to me to think that eveyrtime you see a porg, it's just because a big puffin was here. They have a lovely design too, they're the only thing I liked in this movie I swear ^^")

Today marks 12 years that I've been a member on this site. Things have changed so much! I'm glad to still be a part of this community. It helped me get through my move from my home state in 2007, and I've had great interactions with a lot of people on here.

Also been around, if not terribly active, a long time. I owe this site my initiation into online JP fandom!
