This was a horrible thing that happened and I cannot express how sad I am about it. I have had constant nightmares about it, and it is not the first time. I have been writing letters and lobbying in my state to change certain laws, all to no avail.
The lives of people have been sold to a certain lobby group in the name of profits for those who pay them. They have also paid off a majority of our senate and our congress in order to keep the law in their favor, and this is unfortunately getting too many of my brothers and sisters killed. It is killing too many members of the next generation.
To them, human lives mean nothing. Ending said lives means profit, and the way to get the profit is through lies and fear.
I will NEVER own a gun in my life. Batman taught me that is is the weapon of the enemy and of the coward. I will not use it. I do not need it.
I am sorry if this is an unpopular point of view. But I am strong enough and brave enough to admit that weapons proliferation are a big problem in our society. That guy should have not had such easy access to said guns, and the weapons used in the assault should have no place in our society.

I wish nobody needed any weapons and everybody loved thy neighbor as they loved thyself..but the world isnt that way. An the only real time u need a weapon or gun is when one is aimed at you..there in lies the dilema with our society. There are 351 million guns that are known to be already sold and in the U.S. population thats more guns then there is people.. What law can be passed that would really stop these events from happening with out causing civil war or chaos.. everytime they mention gun laws the gun sales go threw the roof.. I dont know the solution or any law u could pass that would do any good.. But some of our brightest minds need to get together and figure it out.. and we need better leaders that can bring us all together instead of dividing us and creating more turmoil.. Every decent human being in America wants these events prevented and put to a stopped.. but so many people are divided on how to do that or what should be done right now that nothing is or will get done.. Til somebody rises up with solutions that brings us all together again..

Look at what Australia did for gun laws.
We just had our Pride fest this past weekend here in Minnesota. I was worried at times, but I could not leave because I was providing ASL interpreting services for 20 hours between Saturday and Sunday. I wanted to cry at times...there were more people than I have ever seen at Pride, and I have been going for 12 years. It even brought a straight classmate of mine to Pride to help with interpreter services. Honestly, I wanted to sob just because he was there and showing his suppory. He is 35 and never went to pride in his life. He even reached out to me to know appropriate LGBTQ+ signs and cultural normatives.
In this horrific tragedy, I find myself still choking on tears, but more so because of how much support has come forward...how strong the community has become. How unafraid we are to show our Pride and unite together in a peaceful event of celebration and mourning.
A lot of emotions washed over me...and on ten hours of sleep and 20 hours of work, I am surprised I was so energized to keep working...keep loving...keep my head up. Heck...I even interpreted for Adore Delano and the Pointer Sisters.

Australia has good gun laws...i always thought Australia would be a nice place to live..I dont see any problems with them much.. but theyre Austrailians and its a different history and culture.. Over here people will fight and l die for there 2nd amendment beliefs..and the people who hold those beliefs are still the majority.. and then theres that issue of the 351million guns in population already.. nobody is gonna go around and take them up with out a civil war and militias starting up.. which would result in more violence.. no law that ive heard politician suggest and discuss so far is gonna make them scarce or hard to get cause the government would not be able to enforce it.. when the sandy hook elementary school shooting took place.. Obama simply mentioned gun reform in the media and it cause record breaking gun sales across the board.. AR-15s where sold out everywhere and so where high capacity magazines... and selling in secondary market for 3 times retail... thats how crazy Americans are for there guns..this was days after the tragedy and continued for months... I dont know the Answers.. I just stateing facts and the challenges that need to be overcome.. I look forward to the day we overcome these challenges and live together peacefully.... like I said though we need better leaders then what we have to choose from that can unite us not divide us..

And here I go...throwing up, because the focus became about guns again. Honestly. Stop. I understand and sympathize with your pain Harpoon...You mention Australian guns laws..I mention the problems with there laws here.. An educating people on the problems, challenges, and the reactions caused by diversity on such topics.. is how u open minds and help find solutions.. When everyone doesnt see the whole picture problems cant be solve and arguments arise cause points of view are so far apart... an people from other countries dont understand the problems we face in our culture... they mostly have the corrupt media painting the picture for them... but regardless on any differences we may have I love you and all my fellow Americans. I hope for peace and love for everybody here and acoss the earth... Have a happy and safe 4th of July Holliday...

And here I go...throwing up, because the focus became about guns again. Honestly. Stop. And that's the point where the debate has gone too far and I have to lock this thread to keep things civil, even if they can't be in the real world.
