Not big on 2hr long stunt shows.. but thats just me...Fury road is good but not for everyone... I give Force Awakens 8/10 and a must see for everybody..i pretty much agree with everything Rosalear said bout it...but If your a younger person who may or may not have seen the original trilogy an grew up with then newer prequels then this movie will probly blow u away when comparing it to what your most familiar with in the Star Wars Universe.. Most of the time in a three part story the 2nd Act is usually the best... this movie definitely sets the stage for a Epic 2nd act that im already dieing to see.

I found it rather boring. Visually impressive (and there were multiple practical creatures, hurray!), but too much action and too little story for my liking.
Aside from one rather nice scene, the 3D did nothing for me - and too many times I wondered "who?", "what?", "why?" and "how?". But I'm not a Star Wars fan, I'm sure for dedicated fans this is a long-awaited film that they're going to enjoy very much.

Your suppose to get you a good 70's stile buzz goin before u go in to watch a star wars film...thats common knowledge around these parts...It really puts u right there far out into space .lol. The Movie mimics A New Hope alot.. I Agree with the 3d thing... but I have yet to see any movie where the 3d did anything for me.. I get tired of wearing the uncomfortable glasses and i just perfer watching regular style..

Well I seen it Opening day with my Family and girlfriend. She drove 6 hours to spend the weekend with me. She is a huge fan but never experienced a Star Wars movie opening day before. So she got to witness the cheering when the logo and the theme started to play. Over all i thought it was a good movie. I knew my Kylo Ren obsession would pay off with me liking him during the movie. I invested to much into him. >_> ( i did to the I-Rex and look what happened there...) I liked Rey, BB-8 and Poe Dameron. I just could not stand Finn. I found him alittle annoying. I went in with a few things i wanted to happen.
1- Kylo Ren to be part of the Skywalker Family. (Check!) 2- Han Solo to have a awesome Death Scene (Check!) 3- Rey to be the real Jedi. (Check!) 4- Rey to be a Skywalker as well. (Waiting....) 5- More on the Knights of Ren (Waiting....) 6- Supreme Leader Snoke is Darth Plegueis (Waiting....) 7- Leia to be a Jedi (Nope, did not want that)
I knew that Han Solo was going to die. Come on Ford does not like Star Wars. He only would have agreed to come back if he had a death scene and more Indy Films. I found the first Order to be one of the best things ab out the movie, along with Kylo Ren. If it was not for him, i would not have liked the movie really. He was so much Like Anakin. in many ways, he was alot worse with his anger. I do not think Anakin would have been able to kill him own mother. The final battle was just a mirror of Revenge of the Sith battle on Mustafar but in the snow. Kylo looked so much like Anakin/Vader in those scenes. Over all i would rank this movie a 7.5/10. It is not the best Star Wars movie, but it is not the Worst.

It was so bad, I can't even. You said that about the JW toys, yet you still bought them.

The problem with the movie is that there weren't any dinosaurs.
I have to live my life with dinosaurs. If there are no dinosaurs involved, what's the point of even trying?
No I'm just kidding. I absolutely loved it. I even bought myself a Kylo Ren lightsaber so I can throw a tantrum every time Hasbro screws up.

So with my first viewing, I really liked it. I enjoyed the effects a lot and overall felt the story was good
However.. The second time I watched it, I watched as if I was watching any other star wars and I LOVED IT I actually got more emotional the second time (I should note I watched it on a bigger screen in 3D with better sound) I think with the second time I phased out my 'first expectations', and my feelings that it 'felt very different' based on what I had seen in the trailers. I really enjoyed the music, it felt like a mix of both the prequel and sequels in style, and I loved the cues they borrowed from ep 4 (particularly the bit from where Luke returned to the homestead before deciding he should leave Tatooine)
I enjoyed that the effects were more real (I should say, they had 'more depth' this time around) I was particularly swooned at the MAIN 'Hero' lightsaber however. I felt like every time it was ignited, you had a sense of how important/legendary the weapon is to the saga. I may be the only one but I couldn't get over just how real it felt.
I can say this now (about the effects): The Original Trilogy is The Original Trilogy The Prequels were 'clean' The Force Awakens felt more 'grounded' in reality.
I definitely recommend seeing the film at least a second time for those who weren't entirely swooned (similar to how it took some people a second viewing to appreciate Jurassic World better than the initial 'first watch') I feel episode 8 may be better

Speaking of grandpas, who do you think Max von Sydow's character was supposed to be? Some say Boba Fett, but I have a hard time swallowing that. He seems more Force related.

I doubt Boba. Possibly an ally of the Jedi from back during the Clone Wars?
