But seriously... no truer statement was ever typed. *SPOILERS*Okay, so I have to ask... was anybody else actually happy that Ren killed Solo? Like, I guess not happy but glad that he actually went through it or that they didn't ex-machina bull sh** some escape for Solo. I let out an accidentally audible "yes" when that happened and got some sideways looks. I wasn't happy he died, obvs, but it needed to happen.

Well, it certainly has been a while I have been here at the forums. I didn't like the movie. The plot was taken from the Original Trilogy, John Boyegas and Daisy Ridleys performances didn't convince me and the new bad guy was a whiny bitch. But I really liked Poe Dameron and Oscar Isaac's acting. Every time Ridley had to act excited it was so cringe worthy. And to answer to DarkRex's question, no, I wasn't happy when Solo died, but as he said, it needed to happen.

Saw it twice opening day, second best film in the saga I thought. I absolutely loved it

And better names. Darth Vader sounds a lot better than Anakin Skywalker.

So I've seen this three times thus far. Saw it on the 17th and really liked it. Still like it as of the third viewing.
MAJOR SPOLIERS BELOW:
The new main characters are great. Rey is a powerful protagonist and it's great to see a female lead. Finn's character is very dynamic and very human IMO. Poe is just cool and I loved how him and Finn met and instantly became friends. I was not that impressed with Adam Driver's portrayal of Kylo Ren. Not sure what was missing, but he seemed a bit off.
I was shocked with the death of Han Solo. I'm not against killing him off, but IMO they did it too early. Should have waited until the second or third movie.
The special effects were 2x as better as JW IMO and oh gosh all the practical effects were just so amazing. I hope JW2 has half as many practical effects and sets as SW.

For me, Kylo Ren made the movie for me. If it was not for him, I probably would have rated this my least favorite out of the 6. I felt the practical effects were cramped in the movie to the point they looked fake. ( like the crow bird thing)

the new bad guy was a whiny bitch. Why do people keep tossing this around like a legitimate argument?

the new bad guy was a whiny bitch. Why do people keep tossing this around like a legitimate argument? It was just a side note. There was other things too. That's not the only thing why I didn't like the movie.

I loved it when Rey was able to use shatterpoint. That was fantastic.

the new bad guy was a whiny bitch. Why do people keep tossing this around like a legitimate argument? Isn't that how Vader started out, too, according to the prequels? Maybe lsong a few limbs and getting a few burns will improve him.

And yet nobody calls Luke a whiny little bitch. People just have to pick on everything. Cause you know the Original Trilogy is just so flawless. Ha

The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of Nostalgia!

Ha Luke only cried in Empire Strikes Back, when it was revealed that the bad guy was his father. So... Probably that's why. And I love how everyone picked that out of the reasons I didn't like the movie. Now it seems that's apparently the only reason.
